Double ka meetha


How to prepare Double ka meetha?


  1. Bread slices - 10
  2. Sugar - 1 cup
  3. Milk - 2 cups
  4. Cashews - 10 
  5. Cardamom  powder - 1/2 tsp.
  6. Raisins - 10
  7. Almonds - 5
  8. Saffron strands - Pinch
  9. Ghee - 1 tbsp
  10. Water - 1/4 cup
Method:
  1. Trim edges of bread.
  2. Take sugar and water in a vessel and put it on heat.
  3. Boil till sugar melts and turns into sticky syrup.
  4. Add cardamom powder to sugar syrup when you get thick consistency.
  5. Heat ghee in a pan.
  6. Roast cashews and raisins till they turn light brown.
  7. Take them into a bowl.
  8. Roast bread slices by spreading ghee on them till they turn golden brown. Do not burn them.
  9. Take warm milk.
  10. Soak roasted bread slices in warm milk and set aside.
  11. Add these slices to sugar syrup.
  12. Add saffron.
  13. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes on low flame till you get thick consistency of dessert.
  14. Garnish with roasted cashews and raisins.
  15. Tasty double ka meetha is ready to serve.
